With the cultural youth passport (CJP) people under 30 can get big discounts to museums, cinemas and cultural events around the country. At the same time your CJP card is your hosteling international card, which gives you discounts all over the world at the official HI hostels. You can purchase your CJP/HI card at JIP for € 12.50. The magic card for all your train travels. With this card you get 40% off on train tickets after 9am weekdays and all weekend, including public holidays and the whole month of July and August. The discount also applies to up to three people traveling with you on the same trip. The card costs € 55.- for a year. Fill out a registration form at the train station counter to receive a temporary card. The permanent one will be sent to the address you register with.
The Museumkaart allows you free entrance at most museums for a whole year. For people younger than 25 the card only costs € 17.50, otherwise it’s € 35.- unfortunately (+ € 4.95 administration costs). The easiest way to get the card is to go to Boijmans van Beuningen and buy one at the desk. In Rotterdam the Museumkaart is valid for 16 different museums (with the exception of the Kunsthal).
Full-time students (under 30) get the Rotterdampas at a discount for only € 10,-. You have to study or live in Rotterdam to be able to purchase the card. With the Rotterdampas you get free entrance to almost all museums in Rotterdam, a free Spido tour, a free ticket to the Euromast, a free Pathé movie ticket, discounts on courses, swimming pools and much more. Get your Rotterdampas at the Rotterdampas shop inside the Central Library.
